Demographic
The ancestors of most Argentineans of today originally came from Spain and Italy, with smaller
percentages coming from other European nations and Middle-Eastern countries. The country also
has a Jewish population of about 350,000, the fifth-largest in the world, and a similar number of
Syrian Lebanese people.
The main language is Spanish. English is also heavily spoken. German, Italian, and French are also spoken. Argentina was home to mostly immagrants. The more and more I've researched it is much like the U.S. in terms of revolution, etc.
The 1 peso piece shown to the left is the equivalent to around $.25 cents USD. So around 4 Argentinean dollars equals 1 US Dollar. |
Argentina, the second-largest country in Latin America, occupies most of the southern part of the
South American continent. It is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the east and south; its
neighbours are Brazil and Uruguay to the North-east and east, Bolivia and Paraguay to the north
and Chile to the West. The terrain is made up mostly of Low or Flatlands, although it also
features some major mountain ranges and tablelands situated at a high altitude above sea level.
Argentina is a federal country, divided into 23 provinces which have the same political status as
the Australian states. The country is divided geographically into six regions: the Pampas, the
North-West, Cuyo, the North-East, Mesopotamia, and the Patagonia and South Atlantic Islands,
Malvinas being the largest. Like Australia, Argentina also claims sovereignty rights over part of
Antarctica.
