About me.... And how I became the man I am today. Hola! My name is Mateo I'm 21 and I play soccer for the L.A. Galaxy. And usually that is all anyone really knows about me. But there is much more to me than just soccer. I was born in Rosario Argentina. I was delivered premature almost a month early from what was expected. My parents Morena and Mateo Sr. were quite shocked by my arrival as our home is in Buenos Aires about 300km away.  I was the first of four children which just so happen to be all boys. Ignacio is 19, Santiago is 17, and the youngest Agustin is 15. They are all soccer players and all quite talented for their age. We all were raised in Buenos Aires Argentina, and we all are practicing Catholics.

We are quite lucky as our upbringing was that of a traditional Argentinian family. Yet we were blessed with many things most Argentinians dream of. My father is a famous archetect that has been designing structures all over the world for over 30 years. So my schooling and means were much different than that of a normal Argentinian boy. I was allowed to be vastly educated in worldly cultures as well as focus on my love...soccer. Throughout the years I have moved and traveled the world. I now reside with in L.A. with my girlfriend Kiya. My parents also moved here recently as they decided it would be best for my brothers to experience the U.S.A. and further their educations. The house in Buenos Aires is now for sale which I am sad to see go. Although I do not reside in Argentina anymore my heart and mind are still there constantly. I have always had political asperations for my future. And when soccer has run its course I know I will return to my home of Argentina and try to be a prominent figure in the economic push to make Argentina stronger and more stable than in past years. Im a very passionate and motivated person someone who can understand the problems my Country faces.... and take Argentina to greater glory! |
