Argentina's National House of Congress-  is the legislative branch of the government of Argentina. Its composition is bicameral, constituted by a 72-seat Senate and a 257-seat Chamber of Deputies.

Europeans were the first to make contact with Argentina. In 1516, a time when Spanish sailors were searching for gold, silver, and other metals, they sailed into a beautiful wide estuary which they named "Rio de la Plata" or river of silver.  They called the land Argentina, after the Latin word meaning silvery.

Argentina consists of 23 provinces and an autonomous city.... Buenos Aires.  Argentina is the 8th largest country in the world.

Buenos Aires was named the Capital twice due to overthrows of government rule.  Argentina had an upbringing much like that of the U.S.  Overthrows of rule, civil war, etc.

Argentina has gone through many government reforms but today has 3 branches of government just like the U.S. -  Legistlative, Judicial, Executive.

The political framework present day is a federal representative democratic republic, the President is both head of state and head of government, complimented by a pluriform multi- party system.
